SENATOR GREG BALL TO HOST FUNDRAISER DINNER FOR DISABLED VETERAN SEPTEMBER 4TH

Brewster, N.Y. – 08/14/2014 – Senator Greg Ball (R, C, I –Patterson), Chairman of the Senate Veterans, Homeland Security and Military Affairs Committee, will be hosting a fundraiser BBQ dinner for Private Dan Flanigan on September 4th at the Pawling Fire Department alongside Purple Heart Homes, Dutchess County Executive Marcus Molinaro and Dutchess County Sheriff Butch Anderson.

Dan Flanigan is a service-connected disabled Vietnam Veteran and Purple Heart Recipient who currently lives in a 100-year-old home that is in dire need of repairs. Senator Greg Ball teamed up with Purple Heart Homes to raise funds for the Daniel Flanigan Project, which was selected by Purple Heart Homes for their Aging in Place Program.

“This is a tremendous project that has been off to a phenomenal start so far. Countless volunteers and businesses have stepped up to the plate to donate their time, money and services to keep progress rolling,” said Senator Greg Ball. “This being said, there is still a great deal of money needed to complete the necessary renovations. I want to encourage everyone to join me at this fundraising event in order to help give this disabled veteran the home he so desperately needs and deserves.”

“Our veterans have given selflessly to protect the rights and freedoms we enjoy.  Private Dan Flanigan, a Vietnam Veteran and Purple Heart Recipient, is a hero among us, demonstrated by his unrelenting willingness to serve our country. I am humbled to stand alongside Senator Ball, Sheriff Anderson and Purple Heart Homes as we honor Private Flanigan, and assist him with the home renovations he justifiably needs and deserves,” said Dutchess County Executive Marcus Molinaro.

The dinner will take place on Thursday, September 4th from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Pawling Firehouse, South St, Pawling, NY 12564. Tickets are $20 per person, and can be purchased at the door. All the exterior storm windows have been removed and all the rotten molding on the exterior is being replaced.
