COMMUNITY HOSTS BBQ FUNDRAISER FOR DISABLED VETERAN

Pawling, NY – 09/8/2014 – Senator Greg Ball (R, C, I –Patterson), Chairman of the Senate Veterans, Homeland Security and Military Affairs Committee, hosted a fundraiser BBQ dinner for Private Dan Flanigan on Thursday evening at the Pawling Fire Department alongside Purple Heart Homes, Dutchess County Executive Marcus Molinaro and Dutchess County Sheriff Butch Anderson.

Dan Flanigan is a service-connected disabled Vietnam Veteran and Purple Heart Recipient who currently lives in a 100-year-old home that is in dire need of repairs. Senator Greg Ball teamed up with Purple Heart Homes to raise funds for the Daniel Flanigan Project, which was selected by Purple Heart Homes for their Aging in Place Program.

“I am thrilled that we have received immense community support on this project, and have been able to make significant progress on Private Flanigan’s home. It has been an honor to work with Purple Heart Homes, who have helped these renovations move along in a timely fashion,” said Senator Greg Ball. “This BBQ fundraiser is the final push we need to wrap up the project, and properly welcome home this deserving veteran!”

Over the past several weeks, two brand new decks have been installed; new siding and a brand new front door on Dan’s home have been installed. The old carpeting and hardwood flooring has been removed and was replaced with new flooring. The old bathroom has been completely removed and the new bathroom and shower have been installed and completed. All the exterior storm windows have been removed and all the rotten molding on the exterior is being replaced.
